Email Archiver - let your old emails be always accessible

Email Archiver - This program makes secure copies of your emails. Secure means that they are

  • Open copies, not tied to any email program or company. This gives you the security and flexibility to change systems, knowing that your old email will always be accessible.
  • Portable copies that you can use on any machine.
  • Convenient copies so it's easy to sort and search.
  • Long-term copies that will still be readable even when your current email program goes bankrupt or out of date; and centuries into the future.

Compatability - If your emails are currently stored in Microsoft Outlook'97 or higher, or in Outlook Express 5 or higher, or Hotmail or MSN or other web-based systems, or on an IMAP server from which you can download files in Berkely Mail Format, or in any Extended-MAPI system, or on unix in Pine, then you can use Email Archiver. It runs runs under all versions of Windows. It works with English and West-European languages; other languages like Japanese or Russian or Korean will look gibberish.

Ease of use - Email Archiver uses the same familiar interface as is used by pages on the Internet. The options are clearly presented, and anyway it always suggests the sensible thing to do. At any stage you can click on the 'Help' button to get further explanation for the choices currently on offer.

Customization - You can choose to save in HTML format or EML. You can use stylesheets to choose how messages should be displayed. Some sample stylesheets are available for download.

Installation - Download the setup program, and run it. 'Email Archiver' will be added to your Start | Programs menu. You can run it from there, or you can right-click on an email store to archive it.

Uninstallation - Select Start | Settings | ControlPanel | AddRemovePrograms | Email Archiver, and click Okay.
