1/4 cup castor sugar |

Combine in saucepan. Str constantly over heat without boiling until sugar is dissolved. |

Boil rapidly uncovered without stirring for about 5 minutes, or until mixture turns a light golden brown. Remove from heat, allow bubbles to subside, stand 1 minute. |

Dip two forks back to back into toffee mixture and pull into strands. |
